Implementation of the aid effectiveness agenda: tasks and coordination in partner countries
03/02/2011 By Cristina Barrios, Manuel Manrique
On 3 February 2011, the second working breakfast on aid effectiveness and coordination among Spanish development cooperation actors was held in Madrid. The event, co-organised by FRIDE and AECID, was attended by 27 representatives from different areas of the Spanish development cooperation community: cooperation agencies (national, regional and local), NGOs, universities and research centres.
The meeting focussed on the Country Partnership Frameworks and the implementation of the aid effectiveness agenda, as well as coordination among actors in partner countries. The coordinator of the Spanish Technical Cooperation Office in Angola and representatives from the Galician Cooperation and the NGO ACSUR-Las Segovias in Bolivia presented their experiences.
The event presented a good opportunity to exchange ideas and views on the progress made with regard to the implementation of the aid effectiveness agenda on the field. Participants also identified remaining challenges and discussed how to overcome them.
