Beyond Brahimi: The efficacy and sustainability of United Nations legal codes in post-conflict situations

Legal codes pre-issued by the UN are one of the instruments used in State-building situations. During the war-to-peace transition period, these codes can play a vital role, but they must be used in relation to the values of societies in which they are applied.
