NATO's new Strategic Concept

NATO is drafting a new Strategic Concept. What will it have to say about the organisation’s position in the evolving European (or Atlantic and Eurasian) security architecture; the Alliance’s extensive partnerships; and bridging the gap between US and European capabilities, especially given the current economic crisis?

The recent expert report ‘NATO 2020: Assured Security; Dynamic Engagement’ offers some good advice, but NATO continues to struggle with a number of issues. This Policy Brief by Jos Boonstra analyses the report and the areas that require further attention.
