The post-crisis rise of Latin America

Latin America has been affected but less hurt than other regions by the global financial crisis. Due to the upgrading of Brazil's status, access to the Chinese market and socio-economic reforms, some parts of Latin America no longer belong to the global periphery. These changes must be reflected in improved relations with the EU.
