DARFUR REVIEW is a monthly selection of Arab official, journalistic and academic sources that are compiled to give an overview of the main events, opinions and documents on Darfur from the perspective of the Arab world.
The main objective of the newsletter is to fill the language gap between Arab media and western audiences. This initiative takes place within the context of FRIDE’s project “The Gap between Narratives and Practices. Darfur: Responses from the Arab world” and is funded by the Ford Foundation.
In this fourth issue (June 2009), Darfur Review follows the recent decline in media interest in the Sudanese crisis, the ongoing conflict at the Sudan-Chad border in light of the failure to implement the peace accord, and the growing danger that as the Sudanese conflict becomes chronic, it will feature ever less on the international agenda.
