DARFUR REVIEW is a monthly selection of Arab official, journalistic and academic sources that are compiled to give an overview of the main events, opinions and documents on Darfur from the perspective of the Arab world.
The main objective of the newsletter is to fill the language gap between Arab media and western audiences. This initiative takes place within the context of FRIDE’s project “The Gap between Narratives and Practices. Darfur: Responses from the Arab world” and is funded by the Ford Foundation.
In this third issue (May 2009), Darfur Review follows recent changes in the relations between Sudan and Chad, the international efforts in Doha to reach a peace agreement, and the situation of the ICC’s arrest warrant against President al-Bashir and some Darfurian rebel leaders.
