Graduate in Journalism, he completed his doctorate in Physics at the Universidad Autónoma of Madrid. Director of the Department of Study and Analysis of the Presidency of the Spanish Government. Director of the Comparative Politics Unit, CSIC (Spain). He teaches post-graduate courses on Latin American politics at the University Institute Ortega y Gasset and the International University of Andalusia. He is Director of the social sciences journal Zona Abierta, and member of the Editorial Board of Revista Internacional de Sociología.
