The Central Asian jigsaw

How to classify a book that includes a harsh critique of the US human rights record in Central Asia, a gastronomical anecdote about a canine tasting in Uzbekistan, the illustrated depiction of a failed road trip from Beijing to Istanbul and travel recommendations, such as, not to forget small bills for briberies?

Not an easy task. In any case, an unnecessary one. Silk Road to Ruin, by the controversial political cartoonist Ted Rall, proves as much an unclassifiable work as an entertaining one.
