The Human Rights Council , a bold step towards effective rights for all

The upcoming election to the Human Rights Council offers a crucial moment for the international community to demonstrate its readiness to address and respond to the implementation challenge facing the international human rights regime.

Whether the Council will be able to live up to expectations in the field of implementation will depend on the quality of its members: the Council will only be as effective as its members allow it to be.
