Luis Peral

Luis Peral is PhD in Law, MA in Law of the European Union, MA in Law, BA in Political Sciences, with specialisation in International Relations (Universities Complutense and Carlos III of Madrid), and Diploma in English Law (University of Kent, Canterbury, UK).
He has collaborated with FRIDE as Researcher and currently works as Director of the Conflict Prevention and Resolution programme at the Toledo International Centre for Peace. He also works at the Centre for Constitutional Studies of the Ministry of the Presidency under the Ramón y Cajal Research Programme of the Spanish Government, and is Senior Research Fellow at FRIDE.
From September 1992 to September 2004, he taught Public International Law at the Law Faculty of the University Carlos III of Madrid, where he organised special courses and workshops, including a Masters Course on International Cooperation and Humanitarian Action.
He has been Visiting Scholar at the University of Michigan Law School, Lecturer at the International Institute of Humanitarian Law (Sanremo, Italy), Lecturer at the European Masters Course on Democratisation and Human Rights of the European Inter-University Centre (Venice), and member of the Steering Committee of the International Colloquium on Refugees and Post-Conflict Reconciliation.
His research and publications, particularly, Éxodos masivos, supervivencia y mantenimiento de la paz (Trotta, 2001), are focused on International Refugee Law, Humanitarian Law, European Human Rights Law, and Peacekeeping.
