Javier Niño Pérez

Administrator at the Conflict Prevention, Crisis Management, and ACP Political Issues Unit in the European Commission's Directorate General for External Relations

He holds a law degree from the Universidad de Valladolid (Spain) and two Masters’ degrees from the Free University of Brussels and the College of Europe (Belgium) on European Law and European Studies respectively.
Javier Niño Pérez is Administrator at the Conflict Prevention, Crisis Management, and ACP Political Issues Unit in the European Commission’s Directorate General for External Relations. In that capacity, he is at the center of Conflict Prevention related issues in the framework of Community policies, the Common Foreign Security Policy and the European Security and Defense Policy.
He joined the European Commission in 1994 and has previously worked as a trade negotiator and on development cooperation issues. He is a member of the OECD/ DAC Network on Conflict, Peace and Development Co-operation (CPDC). His areas of interest and expertise include Africa and Latin America, failing states, trade, development and support to regional organizations.
He has published extensively on European and International Affairs.
