Nader Fergany

Director of the Almishkat Center for Research of Egypt

Nader Fergany, Director of the Almishkat Center for Research of Egypt, is the lead author of the Report on Arab Human Development 2002 of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
He has a degree in Political Science from the Cairo University of Egypt, and a Ph D from the University of North Carolina in the US. He has worked as a teacher and researcher in many international institutions, such as the Cairo University (Egypt), the University of North Carolina (USA), the American University of Cairo (Egypt), The Arab Institute for Training and Research in Statistics of Baghdad (Iraq), The  Arab Planning Institute (Kuwait), The Institute of National Planning of Cairo (Egypt), St. Anthony’s College in Oxford (UK), the National Population Council and The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics of Cairo (Egypt)
His current research focuses on international migration issues, labor markets, education and development measures in Egypt and the Arab countries.
He has worked as a United Nations expert at the Arab Institute for Training and Research in Statistics, and as a consultant for several Arab and international organizations, such as The Higher Planning Council (Kuwait), the Population Research Unit (Tunisia), the Arab Employment Agency (Morocco), the Arab Labor Organization (Iraq), the Center for Arab Studies (Lebanon) and the  Population and Family Planning Board (Egypt).
