Benita Ferrero-Waldner

Trustee of FRIDE

Benita Ferrero-Waldner is President of the Euroamerica Foundation, member of the FRIDE Board of Trustees, member of the Board of Directors of Gamesa and member of the Advisory Council of the Prince of Girona Foundation.

She served as the European Commissioner for External Relations and European Neighbourhood Policy from 2004 to 2009, and as the European Commissioner for Trade and European Neighbourhood Policy from 2009 to 2010.

Benita Ferrero-Waldner served as the Foreign Minister of Austria 2000–2004 and was the candidate of the Austrian People's Party in the Austrian presidential election, 2004. In addition, she was the Vicepresident of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) in 2000 and Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation for the Republic of Austria between 1995 and 2000.
