Peter Jones is a Lecturer in Post Compulsory Education at the University of Southampton, United Kingdom. His past research has examined the development of education policy in the European Union (EU) and the impact of EU accession on education systems in Central and South-East Europe.

He is currently engaged in researching the links between the EU and the governance of education outside the European Union, with a focus on the mechanisms and socioeconomic content of the Regulatory Regionalism of Higher and Vocational Education.
