Alejandro Bendaña is Director of the Centre for International Studies, Managua, Nicaragua. The Centre focuses on issues of peacebuilding and economic justice.
During the 1980s, he served as Secretary-General for Foreign Affairs and United Nations Representative for the Nicaraguan government. He has also worked as an international consultant on demobilisation and reintegration issues in Central America, Mozambique, Sri Lanka, Somalia and Indonesia.
He is the author of numerous books and articles on international relations, peace, development and history.
