Martín Rodríguez Pellecer
Research Assistant
Martín Rodríguez Pellecer studied International Relations and is completing his MA in Latin American Studies at Madrid’s Autónoma University. Before joining FRIDE as a research assistant for the Peace and Security area, he worked as political reporter at the newspaper Prensa Libre in Guatemala (2001-2007). He covered the Parliament, the Presidency and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ministry, in particular relations with the US. He received the Transparency International and IPYS Latin American Journalism award (third place) for an investigation that ended a 60 million euro corruption program.
He was an intern at the Süddeutsche Zeitung, reported for the broadcasting channel Deutsche Welle and worked as an adviser for the Organization of American States Electoral Mission in Guatemala. He is a columnist at Prensa Libre.
