Neil Melvin specializes in the study of conflict, with a particular focus on ethno-national conflicts in the former Soviet Union and in Asia. Melvin has held posts at the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House), the University of Leeds and the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI). He has also served as a Senior Advisor to the High Commissioner on National Minorities of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).
