Jean-Paul Marthoz is a foreign affairs columnist for Le Soir (Brussels), professor of global journalism at the Université catholique de Louvain, chair of GRIP (European Institute on Peace and Security Studies) and the recent author of La liberté sinon rien. Mes Amériques de Bastogne à Bagdad, a 400-page essay on human rights and U.S. foreign policy. He is a member of the Advisory Board of Human Rights Watch/ Europe and Central Asia division.
