Belén Díaz is an international consultant specialized in governance and development, in particular, in the construction and participation of civil society in African countries, the impact of extractive industries (gas, oil and minerals) in local development processes and the transparency in financial transaction (EITI).
She has coordinated Intermon Oxfam’s program Governance/Oil in Chad. She collaborates with Publish What you Pay, Grupo de Estudios Africanos (Autonoma University of Madrid) and Intermón Oxfam in the promotion of transparency in extractive industries sector and in the public financial management of oil resources within development process.
She has experience in the coordination, implementation and monitoring of development projects and humanitarian aid programs both with international organizations and NGO’s (ECHO, Action Against Hunger, Intermón Oxfam) in the field (Guinea, Chad, Cuba, Nigeria) and in Europe (Madrid, Brussels). She has also experience in advocacy in human rights (Amnesty International) and development policies analysis (Intermón Oxfam).
Belén Díaz holds a Degree on Law (Universidad Carlos III of Madrid) an MA in Corporate Social Responsibility (Universidad Alcalá de Henares - on going) and Specialisation Degree in Asylum and Refugee Law (Universidad Carlos III, Madrid).
