Dirk Kruijt is Professor of Development Studies in the Faculty of Social Sciences, Utrecht University.
He is co-editor of "Fractured Cities. Social Exclusion, Urban Violence & Contested Spaces in Latin America", and "Armed Actors: Orgnized Violence and State Failure in Latin America", both published in Zed Books, London, 2007 and 2004.
