Jessie Brouwers holds an MA in Slavic Languages and Cultures (2005) from the University of Groningen, the Netherlands.
She completed an internship at Human Rights Watch Moscow (2003), where she worked on the human rights situation in Chechnya, the conditions of Russian military personal in the North Caucasus republic and the rehabilitation of war veterans.
She worked as Country Coordinator Belarus, Ukraine and Moldova at the Dutch section of Amnesty International (2004-2006).
