Degree in Law by the Universidad Autonóma de Madrid and MA in Foreign Business by the Business Chamber of Madrid.
Sánchez-Montero participated in the creation of the Fundación Acción contra el Hambre in Spain in 1994, where he was responsible for the Operations until Octobre 2007, when he became Director of the Humanitarian Action and Development investigation area at FRIDE.
Previously, he coordinated the humanitarian action and cooperation programmes of the same institution in Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia (1998-99) and Chad (1997-98), as well as with Medicos del Mundo in the Balkans (1993-94).
He published the following books and articles:
- “Fracturas del Nuevo Orden Mundial”. Ed. CIDEAL (2005);
- Co-author of “Geopolítica del Hambre 2003”. Ed. ICARIA (2004) Chapters on Argentina and Palestinian territories;
- Co-author of “Geopolítica del Hambre 1999”. Ed. ICARIA (2000) Chapter on South Caucasus;
- Articles in the Spanih press include several analysis on the 9/11 attacks and on Western Africa conflicts, and in thematic magazines such as Humanitarian Policy Network, of the Overseas Development Institute, on Strategic Focus for Crisis Prevention.
Manuel Sánchez-Montero has also participated as professor on several postgrade studies on International Cooperation and Humanitarian Action.
