Miguel Ángel Fernández Ordóñez

BA in Law and Economic Sciences by the Universidad Complutense of Madrid.
Has been Lecturer of Political Economy at the Universidad Complutense of Madrid; Secretary of State for Economy (1982-86) and for Trade (1987-88); Executive Director at the International Monetary Fund; has presided de Tribunal for the Defence of Competition and held the presidency of the Electrical System National Committee.
He is member of the Commercial Technicians and State Economists Corps, Counsellor for Infrastructure, Editor of the newspaper Cinco Días, columnist of the newspaper El País, commentator of the radio station SER and participant of the weekly programme La Economía a Fondo, CNN+.
He is author of the book La competencia, una introducción a las políticas de liberalización, privatización y defensa de la competencia.
He is also member of the Advisory Committee of FRIDE.
