José Antonio Alonso Rodríguez
Director, Complutense Institute for International Studies
Professor of Applied Economics at the Faculty of Economic Science of the Universidad Complutense of Madrid and Director of the Complutense Institute for International Studies.
His main areas research focus on growth and the foreign sector, commercial specialisation and company internationalisation, as well as development aid policies.
He is the author, together with V. Donoso, of the following books on the Spanish business sector: Características y estrategias de la empresa exportadora española (Madrid, 1989); Competitividad de la empresa española (Madrid, 1994) and Competir en el exterior. La empresa española y los mercados internacionales (Madrid, 1998). In addition, he is the author of a number of articles on the Spanish foreign sector, both in collective volumes and specialised magazines. Amongst his most recent works are: “Growth and the external constraint; lessons from the Spanish case” (Applied Economics, vol. 31, 1999) and “A new approach to balance-of-payments constraint” (with C. Garcimartín, Journal of Post Keynesian Economícs, vol. 21, #2).
He is currently expert member at the Council of Development Cooperation and member of the Advisory Committee of FRIDE.
