Carmen Iglesias is Permanent member of the Real Academia de la Historia and the Real Academia de la Lengua Española.

Former Director of the Centro de Estudios Políticos Constitucionales (CEPC). Carmen Iglesias is Professor of The History of Ideas and Political Forms at the Universidad Complutense of Madrid. She specialises on studies related to the XVIII European century.

She is the author of Los orígenes de la teoría sociológica, La proyección de la utopías europeas en la América del Norte and Los cuerpos intermedios y la libertad en la sociedad civil.

She is member of the Advisory Committee of FRIDE.
