BA in Information Sciences by the University of Navarra.

Has been Editor at Diario de Mallorca (1976-77); has worked at the newspaper DEIA  in Bilbao (1977-78); joined Grupo Correo in 1978 as London correspondent (1978-82), Paris (1982-89), Washington (1989-97), and Rome (1997-2001).

In 1990, she was awarded the prize Cirilo Rodríguez to the best Spanish correspondent abroad.

Currently, she is Vice Chairman of the Fundación Internacional para la Difusión de las Artes y Humanidades (FIDAH) in Spain, Vice Chairman of the Development Assistance Research Associates (DARA),  and member of the Advisory Committee of FRIDE.
