José Manuel Romero Moreno has a Bachelors degree and a doctorate in Law from the Complutense University in Madrid, for both of which he achieved a special distinction (“premio extraordinario”). He also has a degree in Philosophy and Literature (specialising in Pure Philosophy) from the same University.
He is a University Lecturer in the Philosophy of Law in the Law Faculty of the Complutense, where he has taught since December 1975.
He is President of the law firm “Romero Moreno Abogados” and external judicial advisor to the House of His Majesty the King Juan Carlos I.
He is also President of the Foundation CEAR Habitáfrica, Vice-president of FRIDE and member of the Boards of the following Foundations: Axa, Comité Español de los Colegios del Mundo Unido, DARA and Juan Antonio Sagardoy. He is on the Directive Board of the Club of Madrid and is member of both the Board and the Advisory Council of the Foundation Rafael del Pino and Secretary for the Board of the Real Instituto Elcano.
In addition to the above roles, Juan Manuel Romero Moreno is also legal advisor for the following Foundations: Caja Madrid, Caixa Galicia, Pedro Barrie de la Maza and the International Centre for Economic and Social Studies (LSE in Spain, for which he is the Secretary and Advisor on National Patrimony).
He is the Count of Fontao.
