Fernando Henrique Cardoso

Former President of Brasil (1995 - 2003)

Fernando Henrique Cardoso, former President of the Federal Republic of Brazil (January 1995 – January 2003), is President of the Club of Madrid, an organization whose main objective is to contribute to the strengthening of democracy all over the world.

 

Bachelor in Social Sciences and PhD in Sociology at the University of São Paulo, Fernando Henrique Cardoso has accumulated an extensive academic experience. Professor of Political Science and Emeritus Professor at the University of São Paulo, he was also Simon Bolivar Professor at Cambridge, Associate Director of Studies at the École des Hautes Études in Social Sciences, and Visiting professor at the Collège de France, at the University of Paris-Nanterre, and at the Universities of Stanford and Berkeley.
