Juan Garrigues
Former researcher in the Peace, Security and Human Rights Area in FRIDE

Juan Garrigues holds a BA in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia and an MA in International Studies from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
He worked in FRIDE as a Researcher in the Peace, Security and Human Rights Area. Prior to joining FRIDE, he worked at the Centro Internacional de Toledo (CITpax) as Project Manager and as an Associate Political Affairs Officer in the Department of Political Affairs at the United Nations Secretariat.
He has also worked in the External Relations Directorate General of the European Commission and as an electoral observer for the OSCE, UN and EU in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Niger and Aceh, Indonesia respectively. In 2003 he worked in Afghanistan as a Reporting Officer for the NGO ACTED. Other field experience includes the drafting of country reports in Nigeria and Uruguay
