Rafael Guardans Cambó
Executive Director, FUNDESO
He founded the Fundación Desarrollo Sostenido (Foundation for Sustained Development) (FUNDESO) in 1995, of which he is currently CEO.
Since 2000, he is the manager of the consulting company Iniciativas para el Desarrollo Sostenido S.L. (Initiatives for Sustained Development). He is also a member of the Board of the Spanish Confederation of Foundations and the Editorial Board of the Grupo Negocios.
He got his degree in Law from the University of Navarre, and started his professional career as a lawyer at the Más Calvet law office.
Between 1984 and 1987, he developed a business project in the field of art editorials (Port Said Ediciones Madrid, S.A.), and he was later appointed Chairman of the Board.
In 1985 he created a foundation to aid developing countries (CODESPA), where he was Secretary General.
He has also held other part-time positions in other foundations. He is a member of The Resource Foundation Trust (Larchmont, NY, USA). In 1997, he was appointed Vice-president of the Spanish Institutional Foundation FIES, and became its President in 2001.
