BA in Law from the University Complutense of Madrid, Diploma of Advanced Studies in International Law from the University Robert Schuman (Strasbourg) and Diploma of Advanced Studies in European Studies from the Ortega and Gasset Institute.
Researcher at the University Complutense of Madrid (UCM) and Lecturer at the Centre of International Humanitarian Law Studies and Diffusion (Centro de Estudios y Difusión del Derecho Internacional Humanitario, CEDIH) of the Spanish Red Cross. From 2003 to 2005, Amaya Úbeda de Torres was Lecturer of International Public Law and Comparative European Politics at the Universities of Strasbourg and Rouen (France).
She has also been Visiting Lecturer at Columbia University (New York) and at the American University (Washington), and has worked for the European Court of Human Rights and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
She has published several articles on the international protection of human rights and the effectiveness of the democratic principle.
