On 25 January 2012, FRIDE has launched the second edition of its annual publication Challenges for European Foreign Policy in 2012. What kind of geo-economic Europe?, at a dinner debate held at the Sofitel Brussels Europe Hotel, with the presence of key EU officials and senior interlocutors from think tanks, NGOs and media.

The discussion was led by Pedro Solbes, President of FRIDE, and Richard Youngs, Director General of the organisation. Among attendees was European Commission Vice-President Joaquin Almunia, and Pierre Vimont, Executive Secretary General of the European External Action Service.
