Presentation/debate of the report “Assessing International Democracy Assistance” organised by FRIDE with the support of UNDEF and the European Partnership for Democracy.

FRIDE has been partnering with the World Movement for Democracy to provide the first comprehensive assessment of international democracy assistance from a local stakeholders’ perspective. Based on extensive field work in five continents and focusing on the views of local democrats, this assessment aspires to provide new findings on the way external democracy support is perceived around the world. We hope to contribute to re-legitimising international democracy assistance and to improving policy making in this important area of EU external relations.
