As part of the FRIDE in Casa de Galicia series of events, which adhere to the Chatham House Rule and that bring together experts, academics, politicians and journalists, FRIDE is please to welcome the next 4th of March Clare Short, UK's Member of the Parliament, for a presentation on "The European Union and the United States: an opportunity to rethink the relationship".

Clare Short was Secretary of State for International Development between 1987 and May 2003. DFID was created after 1997 general elections to promote sustainable development policies and eliminate extreme poverty.

She is a Member of the Parliament since 1983 at the House of Commons, for Birmingham Ladywood.
