Casa de GaliciaMadrid, Spain 21/01/2008
Description
The new book "La guerra y la paz" (War and Peace), published by Icaria Editorial, offers an important tool for understanding the current international system, as well as decision-making processes in the fields of foreign policy, security, humanitarian action and development.

The author focuses his attention on the changes that have occurred since September 2001, the crisis in the US, the shift from military security to human security and the challenges of nuclear proliferation. He also examines the role of diplomacy, peace-keeping missions and the creation of an "international security regime" that combines pragmatism with the normative contributions of Kantian idealism.
