The role of the European Union in an age of globalisation
Casa de GaliciaMadrid, Spain 05/12/2007
Description
The latest event in the “FRIDE in Casa de Galicia” series of seminars, focusing on the role of the European Union in an era of globalisation, took place on Wednesday, December 5.
France’s former Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hubert Védrine, presented his new report, requested with fortuitous timing by President Nicolás Sarkozy, examining the main challenges that France and the EU must confront in a modern, globalised world.
His reflections centre on global attitudes, politics and economics, and also on issues of foreign policy, including defence and international influence. The document also analyses the potential advantages and disadvantages of maintaining, or modifying, existing policies.
