Rights and a culture of peace
02/04/2008This document comprises FRIDE Direct General Pierre Schori’s speech at the international seminar Rights for a Culture of Peace which was staged in the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid on 2 April 2008. The event was organised by the Movement for Peace (MPDL).
In his talk the former Swedish Development Minister and UN Special Envoy to Côte d’ Ivoire related his thoughts on democracy and terrorism, “low-intensity democracies” and Europe’s double-talk with regard to the Arab world, before offering his perspective on how the international community could cooperate to foment a culture of peace.
